Bring IT!

As much as I hate confrontation, uncomfortable'ness'
In my life all it has done
is bring me to a place with more clarity
so life...
bring it on!

I feel like in my thirties I have dealt with such difficult times, situations, moments, what have you.  I am also aware that with every situation there is someone, somewhere that has a more difficult one happening to them.  With that said, however difficult and crappy you feel when your are in the thick of it, I really do believe it makes you so much of a stronger and more aware person.  I feel the hardest part is remembering  that in the end  it will make you stronger, if you listen and learn, and you don't drown in it...cause if you're drowning you can't be learning from it.

That's where your friends come in, your family.  That is what they are there for--to help you not drown from it.  They are not there, nor should they be there to save you.  They are there to throw you a small little raft so you can float and figure out how to swim again.  What's funny is what I've also learned in my thirties (and I am still learning) is who those real, raw, friends are.  Who is willing to give of themselves when its not pretty.  I have to say if you asked me 5 years ago who those people would be....I may have had one person correct!  Hindsite is 20/20.  The hindsite also helps me to reflect on who I've been there for.  Have I been there in the thick of it for my people, my friends, my family.  I can say that in many cases I have...and some I could have done better.

So today I will be grateful for all the 'pain in the ass' moments, all the sad moments, all the moments when I wanted to just throw in the towel because those moments have made me stronger and continue to do so. Today I will not be sad about the people I have lost but I will happy that I got the chance to know them.

 Today I will be grateful.
Who will join me?

  4. True that. I definitely join you in gratitude. I'm so glad that you can see things from this perspective... not everyone can. I think this is one of the keys to happiness -- you have to be able to see the good in the ugly.
